We need parent volunteers to make each event happen. Choose a date below, open the sign-up, and claim your shift — every hour makes a difference for our students.

Before the Game

Bleacher Team

Commitment: ~30–45 min Activity: Light lifting

Arrive at BCHS at 5:30 p.m. Cover the bleacher the band sits on during the game.

Prop Support Team

Commitment: ~30–45 min Activity: Moderate lifting

Arrive at BCHS at 5:30 p.m. Assemble the props and bring them to the field.

Front Ensemble Team

Commitment: ~15–30 min, plus ~15–30 min at halftime Activity: Moderate lifting

Arrive at BCHS at 5:30 p.m. Bring instruments and podiums to the field. Also helps move equipment on/off the field at halftime.

Hair & Uniform Team

Commitment: ~30–45 min Activity: Light

Arrive at BCHS at 5:30 p.m. Help students with hair and uniforms if needed.

Water Jug Team

Commitment: ~15–30 min Activity: Heavy lifting

Arrive at BCHS at 5:30 p.m. Fill gatorade jugs with ice and water; bring them to the field.

During the Game

50/50 Raffle Help

Commitment: 1st half & early 3rd quarter Activity: Light, on your feet

Sell 50/50 raffle tickets via QR code in the stands.

Hydration Team

Commitment: Full game (~2.5 hrs) Activity: Light, on your feet

Refill water bottles throughout the game to keep the band hydrated.

During the Halftime Performance

Halftime Photographer

Commitment: ~15–30 min Activity: Low

Take pictures at halftime and upload them to Google Drive at bchs.band/photos.

Halftime Videographer

Commitment: ~15–30 min Activity: Low

Record video of the halftime show and upload to Google Drive at bchs.band/photos. iPhone required.

After the Game

Connex Clean Up Team

Commitment: ~15–30 min Activity: Moderate lifting

Help students put props and podiums away in the Connex.

Stands Clean Up Team

Commitment: ~15–30 min Activity: Light–moderate

Remove bleacher covers, empty water jugs, and bring everything back to the band room.

Concessions — 1st Half

Commitment: ~2 hrs Activity: Light, standing

Arrive at BCHS 5:30 p.m.; open at 6:30 p.m.

Inventory & restock from the band room.
Receive cash box & Square readers.
Set up Square device/app.
Brief the 2nd-half team.

Concessions — 2nd Half

Commitment: ~1.5–2 hrs Activity: Light, standing

Head over at halftime; close at the start of the 4th quarter and clean up.

Clean and organize the stand.
Note restock needs.
Return cash/box/readers to president or treasurer.

Only designated adults should handle cash, Square accounts, or transaction devices.

Before the Buses Leave (At BCHS)

U-Haul Driver(s)

Commitment: All day Activity: Driving

Meet at the Anthem U-Haul, pick up the rental, and drop off after unloading.

Tow for Trailer & Driver

Commitment: All day Activity: Driving

Meet at BCHS ~60 min before the buses leave. Requires a tow-capable vehicle.

Bus Chaperone

Commitment: All day Activity: Low, supervisory

Ride the bus to and from the event with students. Requires an IVP Fingerprint Card. Can also sign up to help with other assignments.

Hair & Uniform Team

Commitment: ~30–60 min Activity: Light

Help students with hair and uniform adjustments.

Equipment Loading Team — BCHS Departure

Commitment: ~30–60 min Activity: Heavy lifting

Meet at BCHS and help load the U-Hauls and trailer.

Lunch Help

Commitment: ~30–60 min Activity: Light

Pick up lunch (Boosters paid) and bring it to BCHS at the emailed time. Help set up and serve students.

During the Festival

Competition Unloading Team

Commitment: ~30 min Activity: Heavy lifting

Once U-Hauls arrive, help unload and stage props/podiums for the performance.

Field Support Team

Commitment: ~30–45 min Activity: Moderate lifting, fast pace

Bring instruments and podiums to the field. Move equipment on/off the field during the performance.

Show Videographer

Commitment: ~10–15 min Activity: Low

Record video of the show and upload to Google Drive at bchs.band/photos. iPhone required; you'll get a pass for access.

Show Photographer

Commitment: ~10–15 min Activity: Low

Take pictures of the performance. You'll get a pass for access.

After the Festival (Back at BCHS)

Post-Performance Loading Team

Commitment: ~30 min Activity: Heavy lifting

Load the U-Haul(s) and trailer once the performance is over.

Return Unloading Team — BCHS

Commitment: ~30 min Activity: Heavy lifting

Help empty the U-Haul(s) and trailer once they arrive back at BCHS.
