First, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make Friday evening’s potluck a success! So many pitched in to lend a hand and we can’t thank you enough for the mountain of amazing food. We truly appreciate the generosity, support and hopefully everyone left with a full belly!

🎉 Band camp week is officially HERE!
In a little over 24 hours, our students will begin arriving at BCHS to board the buses and begin learning their 2026–2027 program at Camp Pinerock!
There is a lot of information in this email, but we want to ensure your student is fully prepared for camp.
🎒 Packing Reminders
Packing should be well underway! Please review the packing list available HERE or the interactive option HERE.
A few important reminders:
- 🌧️ Plan for rain and pack a poncho or other rain gear.
- 👟 Pack extra shoes and socks.
- 💧 Bring your band water jug.
- 🏺Freshman students will receive their band water jug at drop off.
- 🏷️ Label personal belongings whenever possible.
- 🧴 Please do NOT forget soap and deodorant! 😇
📝 Additional Forms — If Applicable
Prescription Medication Form — HERE
Complete this form only if your student will need to take prescription medication during camp.
Please remember:
- Medications must be in their original pharmacy containers.
- A parent or guardian must check in the medication at BCHS.
- The medication and dosage will be verified with our medical team.
- A parent or guardian must pick up any remaining medication after camp.
- Students bringing prescription medication and their parents or guardian must arrive at 10:00 AM.
Food Allergy or Dietary Restriction Form — HERE
- Complete this form if your student has a food allergy or dietary restriction.
- This information must be provided in advance so Camp Pinerock can safely prepare your student’s meals.
*⚠️ If you have not yet reported your child’s meds, an allergy or dietary restriction, please do so by 5pm today (Sunday, July 19th)⚠️.*
🚌 Departure Day — Monday, July 20, 2026
Check-In Location: BCHS Fine Arts Building. Enter by the Small Auditorium
Check-In Times:
- 💊 10:00 AM: Students bringing prescription medication
- ⏰ 11:00 AM: All remaining students
A parent or guardian MUST accompany each student at check-in.
- 🥪 Students MUST bring a packed lunch to eat before departure.
- Our first meal at Camp Pinerock will be dinner.
After check-in, students will help load the U-Hauls, trailer, and buses before we depart.
📋 Band Camp Rules and Expectations
- Band camp is a school-sponsored event.
- All BCHS and DVUSD rules remain in effect throughout the week.
- Students are expected to behave respectfully and responsibly while representing the BCHS Band Program.
🚫 Alcohol, Drugs, Tobacco and Vapes
- Alcohol, tobacco products, vapes, and illegal drugs are strictly prohibited.
- Violations will be handled according to district policy and may result in disciplinary action.
🛏️ Room Assignments
- Room assignments are made by BCHS staff.
- Students must remain in their assigned rooms.
- Students may NOT enter the room of the opposite gender.
- This district policy will be strictly enforced.
🏕️ Camp Property and Equipment
- Students must treat Camp Pinerock’s facilities, band equipment, and the belongings of others with care.
- Additional policies are available in the DVUSD Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook and the BCHS Student and Parent Handbook.
🎶 Final Day — Friday, July 24, 2026
Parent Performance: 10:30 AM at Camp Pinerock
Parents, please do not arrive before 10:00 AM
- Families are invited to see what the students have accomplished during the week!
- Parking at camp is limited, please see their website for Visitor Information or to inquire with any questions.
🧹 Camp Clean-Up and Return to BCHS
- After the performance, all students will help clean the camp, gather their belongings, and load instruments and equipment.
- Students leaving camp with a parent must have completed the release form and provided it to Mrs. Broderick at the Potluck.
- ⚠️ Important: Even if a student rides home with a parent, the student must return to BCHS to help unload.
- This responsibility applies to every student, regardless of how they travel back from camp.
- Our anticipated arrival back at BCHS is approximately 1:00 PM.
- Travel updates will be shared through the Band App.
- Once at BCHS, students will unload and put away all instruments and equipment.
- Mrs. Broderick will dismiss students after everything has been completed.
