πΒ Band camp week is officially HERE!
In a little over 24 hours, our students will begin arriving at BCHS to board the buses and begin learning their 2026β2027 program at Camp Pinerock!
There is a lot of information in this email, but we want to ensure your student is fully prepared for camp.
π Packing Reminders
Packing should be well underway! Please review the packing list availableΒ HERE or the interactive optionΒ HERE.
A few important reminders:
- π§οΈ Plan for rain and pack a poncho or other rain gear.
- π Pack extra shoes and socks.
- π§ Bring your band water jug.
- πΊFreshman students will receive their band water jug at drop off.
- π·οΈ Label personal belongings whenever possible.
- π§΄ Please doΒ NOT forget soap and deodorant! π
π Additional Forms β If Applicable
Prescription Medication Form βΒ HERE
Complete this form only if your student will need to take prescription medication during camp.
Please remember:
- Medications must be in their original pharmacy containers.
- A parent or guardian must check in the medication at BCHS.
- The medication and dosage will be verified with our medical team.
- A parent or guardian must pick up any remaining medication after camp.
- Students bringing prescription medication and their parents or guardian must arrive atΒ 10:00 AM.
Food Allergy or Dietary Restriction Form βΒ HERE
- Complete this form if your student has a food allergy or dietary restriction.Β
- This information must be provided in advance so Camp Pinerock can safely prepare your studentβs meals.
*β οΈΒ If you have not yet reported your childβs meds, an allergy or dietary restriction, please do so by 5pm today (Sunday, July 19th)β οΈ.*

Check-In Location: BCHS Fine Arts Building.Β Enter by the Small Auditorium
Check-In Times:
- πΒ 10:00 AM: Students bringing prescription medication
- β°Β 11:00 AM: All remaining students
A parent or guardianΒ MUST accompany each student at check-in.
- π₯ͺ StudentsΒ MUST bring aΒ packed lunch to eat before departure.Β
- Our first meal at Camp Pinerock will be dinner.
After check-in, students will help load the U-Hauls, trailer, and buses before we depart.Β
π Band Camp Rules and Expectations
- Band camp is a school-sponsored event.Β
- All BCHS and DVUSD rules remain in effect throughout the week.
- Students are expected to behave respectfully and responsibly while representing the BCHS Band Program.
π« Alcohol, Drugs, Tobacco and Vapes
- Alcohol, tobacco products, vapes, and illegal drugs are strictly prohibited.Β
- Violations will be handled according to district policy and may result in disciplinary action.
ποΈ Room Assignments
- Room assignments are made by BCHS staff.Β
- Students must remain in their assigned rooms.
- Students mayΒ NOT enter the room of the opposite gender.Β
- This district policy will be strictly enforced.
ποΈ Camp Property and Equipment
- Students must treat Camp Pinerockβs facilities, band equipment, and the belongings of others with care.
- Additional policies are available in theΒ DVUSD Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook and theΒ BCHS Student and Parent Handbook.
πΆ Final Day β Friday, July 24, 2026
Parent Performance: 10:30 AM atΒ Camp Pinerock
Parents, please do not arrive beforeΒ 10:00 AM
- Families are invited to see what the students have accomplished during the week!Β
- Parking at camp is limited, please see their website forΒ Visitor Information or to inquire with any questions.
π§Ή Camp Clean-Up and Return to BCHS
- After the performance, all students will help clean the camp, gather their belongings, and load instruments and equipment.
- Students leaving camp with a parent must have completed the release form and provided it to Mrs. Broderick at the Potluck.
- β οΈΒ Important: Even if a student rides home with a parent, the student must return to BCHS to help unload.Β
- This responsibility applies to every student, regardless of how they travel back from camp.
- Our anticipated arrival back at BCHS is approximatelyΒ 1:00 PM.Β
- Travel updates will be shared through the Band App.
- Once at BCHS, students will unload and put away all instruments and equipment.Β
- Mrs. Broderick will dismiss students after everything has been completed.
