Good evening Jag Band Fam!

A few updates for you today regarding our upcoming 2 weeks before summer!

Congrats Seniors!

Congratulations to the class of 2026! Thank you for all you have done for the program and we wish you all the best on your next endeavor! This *should* be the last My Music Office email you receive as we start to shift to the new band rosters at Kickoff this Friday. If not, please be patient for a few more cycles. You will also have access to the Band App if you want to reach any of your friends for a few more days as well. After that we will be removing your access as we get ready to add our new band members. This is your last chance to download any photos from the app as well if you choose.

Musicians Abroad

For those that received a Musician’s Abroad invitation, just a reminder that that meeting is this Wednesday. As a reminder, this is a national organization that our state participates in and it is not a school activity. It is a wonderful opportunity and I hope some of our members will consider taking advantage of this amazing opportunity. This is the first time our students have been nominated from the band program and we look forward to some of you representing the Jaguar Pride Band on the international level!

Graduation Thursday

This Thursday is graduation! Thank you for your patience as I get this itinerary to you. It’s my first graduation with this district and I still needed some of the information to share, but the past few weeks have been a little inundated with other awesome events 😉 Just a few reminders as you read through the itinerary. (1) Graduation is all band students from CB, SB, and WE. (2) This is the last graded performance for the class. All attendance and grading policies from the handbook will be adhered to. Please refer back to it for a refresher. (3) Concert Black like all performances. (4) It is an asynchronous day so transportation to and from the school is the student’s responsibility, but we have a bus to and from the stadium. (5) There is no formal lunch on the schedule. Please make sure you student eats a good breakfast before arriving on campus and maybe has some snacks to get through the day. They’ll be back for dinner, but by being the middle graduation time, they may run into an issue with that. Please plan accordingly.

Band kick off Friday

As you’ve seen from our Booster communications, the 2026-27 Band Kickoff takes place this Friday from 5-8! This is event is for all returning and incoming band members and their parents! At this event there we will be setting up summer communications, an opportunity to meet new leadership and some of our new staff, get information about camps and payments for the new season, and more. We want as many students there as possible as we get ready to set up our new season for success!

Finals and Instrument Return

After this week, we will be completing our band final exams and returning school owned instruments. There will be a way to check them out with a deposit for the ‘26 season at the kick off this Friday. Tubas will all be testing their finals on Wednesday so they can get their instruments clean for check in next week. All school owned instrument borrowers will be testing on Monday so they can get their instruments cleaned for check in. Please make sure to do so to avoid the district fines on your account. All playing finals will be done on Monday, May 18th and Tuesday, May 19th. On given finals day we will be doing all locker check ins for their final assignments. If you have a schedule conflict with the last days, we ask that you or your student please communicate it so we can accommodate and make sure all end of year tasks are completed.

Leadership Camp & Clean Out Day

We announced the new Marching Leadership was announced this past weekend at banquet and we are looking forward to getting them started and ready for the next year! As we said, we had an AMAZING amount of interest in leadership this year with 42 applicants. We wish we could provide all of them a role, but we only have so many opportunities to do so. At this time, we are waiting for our final PO to send our new leadership to the Humbert Leadership Camp May 28th through 30th. Due to the number of new leaders, we will only be able to fund camp costs for Drum Majors, Wind Captains, and Section Leaders. If Field Assistants and Managers would like to also attend, it would need to be at their own expense. Please let me know and I can provide you with the registration link to do so. No transportation will be provided for this event so we will be sending personal transportation forms. This event will be at Shadow Ridge. We will share more information about this soon.

The last phase after school ends is the Leadership clean out day after finals. I intend to do this after finals on Thursday, May 21st unless I get pulled into something else. The other option will be after morning meetings on May 22nd. This day is the prepare the band room for summer cleanings and to ensure that all items are secure for the summer.

Final Camp Schedule

Now that our big events are done for the year, I’m working on our 26-27 calendar and my hope is to have it typed and sent to you by my last Band Update before we leave for summer. It will also be uploaded to our band webpage. Please keep an eye out for it.
