Boulder Creek Band Volunteers
Find Your Fit! No experience necessary, come join the fun!
JAGUAR VOLUNTEERS
A typical away performance or Friday night home game requires about 25 volunteers in a wide variety of roles you will see below. Every volunteer opportunity will have a sign-up in Signup Genius. You are welcome to try different roles or stay with the ones you love once you find your fit!
If you are not sure what might work with your schedule or other constraints, please contact our volunteer coordinators at volunteering@bchs.band.
Apparel
The apparel volunteers oversee all BCHS Band branded items including show shirt orders for students for events and Jaguar Spirit wear.
Bus Chaperone
Bus chaperones ride the bus to and from events. We are looking for 2-3 chaperones per bus. Highly encouraged to sign-up for additional volunteer positions if riding the bus (i.e., snacks, hydration, pit, sound).
Concessions
Band Boosters staff concessions at home football games. Looking for cashiers and food runners (food runners need a food handlers card).
First Aid
First aid is for any parent. No medical background is needed. We help support the students at all events and event days dealing with minor issues to help keep them performance-ready.
Hydration
Hydration is SUPER important for the students. Includes: setting up the water jugs for practices, home and away events, hosted events, and maintaining the water jugs.
Logistics
Logistics involves: setting up practice fields, scaffolding for practices, driving trailers and/or box trucks to and from events, repairing anything that needs fixing, and helping/building props.
Media
The AMAZING media team consists of photographers, videographers, website designers, and social media managers. They attend home and away events, marching/concert performances, and band camp.
Pit Crew
“Pit” AKA Front Ensemble consists of the musicians in the front line of the band. Volunteers are needed to help push out the larger instruments (Marimba and Timpani) to the field.
Ropes and Blankets
Volunteers before the home/away games, rope off the seating area for the band and set up the banners. Blankets are set out on the last row for the tubas (so they are not damaged when set down.) After the game, all supplies are cleaned up and stored in the band room.
Sponsorships & Advertising
This team secures partnerships to fund our events, offering sponsors valuable exposure while supporting the growth of our band. Sponsorships and ads are essential to funding band programs.
Student Meals
The Meals crew feeds the kids lunches and snacks on competition and special event days, and helps make sure the entire crew is ready for the show!
Uniforms
Uniforms involve: helping students in the uniform room ahead of games with snaps/zippers, finding alternate sizes, lending out gloves, shoes, socks, plumes and collecting/organizing all items afterwards.
